Founded in 1972, by the late Loren L. Zachary and Nedra Zachary, the National Vocal Competition for Young Opera Singers is one of the most prestigious and valuable singing competitions in the world.

ELIGIBILITY
Female applicants ages 21 - 33, male applicants ages 21 - 35. Singers must be prepared to pursue a professional operatic stage career, be present for all phases of the Competition, and reside in the United States, Canada or Mexico.
AWARDS
Five singers are selected from the New York Regional Auditions and five singers are chosen at the Los Angeles Regional Auditions. Ten Finalists will compete at the Grand Finals Concert in Los Angeles with orchestral accompaniment. The New York winners receive transportation and accommodations in Los Angeles. The Top Award is $10,000 and approximately $50,000 will be distributed amongst the Finalists, each Finalist receiving a minimum of $1,000. In addition, a flight to Europe for auditioning may be awarded.

Applications for auditions must be postmarked no later than the deadline date for the region you are auditioning. Send a self addressed, stamped business size envelope to:
