Each year in October the Zachary Society holds the Viennese Lucheon to raise funds for its activities that support young singers.The 2005 Luncheon was presented under the auspices of

The Lucheon opened with a reception. Nedra Zachary and Carolyn Fried greeted the attendees as they arrived. Music was provided by Tony Hartenstein and his accordian.
After the doors to the dining room were opened Laszlo and Maria Cser created the atmosphere of Vienna with the Piano and Violin stylings.
Over 250 attendees enjoyed a magnificent luncheon starting with Roasted Butternut Squash Soup followed by their choice of Wiener Schnitzel or Lake Superior Whitefish.
After honoring Guest of Honor Carolyn Fried, entertainment was provided by former Zacary Competition Finalists Michele Patzakis,Soprano and Zeffin Quinn Hollis, Baritone accompanied by Brian Farrell, piano. Their medley of Viennese Operetta selections delighted the audience.

Next, in order to make room for the delicious dessert, Peter Hubner played the Radetzky March on the trumpet and a march through the dining room ensued.
The luncheon closed with dessert, coffee and the traditional drwaing
for the center pieces and bottle of Austrian wine at each table.
